so happy!!! ^_^ hey all!!! i'm soo soo happy!!! hahaha... de tkd comp was held yesterday, & we did very well! haha... i was so relieved that my hard work didnt go down de drain, coz after de gruelling preliminary round, quarter-finals, semi-finals & de grand finals, i managed to clinch de gold medal for de indiv black belt category!!! i was simply over de moon!!! haha... all my days of rigorous training haf at last paid off! haha... =P anyway, i wasnt only happy coz of my personal glory, but it was also bcoz hc managed to clinch an overall 2nd! haha... last yr, we managed to get bronze (3rd/4th placing) out of 5 schs...wch wasnt realli a feat...but dis yr, we managed to get overall 2nd out of 9 schs! haha... *yay* hc tkd rox... ^_^

ok...so perhaps hc sports isnt exactly on a losing streak after all...de bball girls & tkd pple are de anomalies... de bball girls were realli superb in de finals where dey played against vj & ended up thrashing them 68-34...exactly twice their score... & de mvp was also from de hc girls' team... i guess vj did try to put up a hard fight, & i admire them for their fighting spirit...but perhaps there was juz too significant a difference in their skills... as for de bball boys, i felt so disappointed for them...dey were losing by almost 10 pts in de 1st quarter & dey managed to close de margin in de 2nd quarter...by de 3rd quarter, dey were actually leading tj by quite a few points, & in de 4th quarter, it was a veri close fight coz dey juz kept overtaking each other...& 3 mins before de end of de match, hc was still leading by abt 6 pts, so most pple thought we were most prob gonna win...but before we knew it, tj suddenly fought back & scored a 3 pointer...although our players wanted to widen de margin, luck was juz not on their side & perhaps it was also bcoz dey got a little frantic when tj seemed to be catching up...so in de end, dey cldnt score even though they tried to shoot, & tj ended up gaining possession of de ball & managed to get it into de hoop... *sigh* but well, it was such a close match & both teams were definitely on par wif each other in terms of skills & teamwork...

anyway, enough said abt hc's stories...hope u guyz can share urs on our next gathering... are u all free on 6 june, monday? wanna go for a nice meal & haf a proper get-together...? perhaps we cld visit our lao di fang, marche?? haha... ^_^  ¶ celestine 6:20 PM

anyway, de june hols are coming...& perhaps itz time for us 401-ers to meet up again? haha... charli-barney, when're u coming back?? i heard u'll be back sometime soon...be sure to inform us so we can haf a nice gathering okie? =P

well, juz to update u guyz on myself...i'm currently busy preparing for my comp...wch is a mere week away! haha...quite stressful coz of de responsibility i hafta shoulder...i realli hope to win something, but i guess de chances are real slim. if u wanna noe de reason why, u'll hafta ask me personally, coz itz not veri convenient to post certain stuff here...on a blog, where nth's realli private! u guyz heard abt de psc scholar incident? haha...must learn from other pple's mistakes & make sure we dun follow their footsteps... anyway, i think hc has been on a losing streak! *sigh* realli sad case...we've been losing in every single sport so far! eg...softball girls lost to vj in de finals, softball boys lost to vj (even though they were leading by quite a lot in de 1st few innings, onli to lose eventually in de veri last inning), tabletennis boys got disqualified, volleyball boys lost in de semis though they were leading at first, squash girls lost their champs title to rj (if i'm not wrong), & waterpolo boys lost to ac in de finals... *big sigh* i'm not sure wat exactly is wrong...but some pple juz complain that itz probably a curse dat we've been under ever since we changed our sch name from 'hwa chong junior college' to 'hwa chong institution'... 'hci' is a name dat i can hardly identify wif...i simply see it as a sch for chinese high boys to enter after they finish their 4 yrs of sec sch education...itz like an extension of their tchs sch life & environment...i realli wonder if dey'll be able to get out of this integrated programme if dey ever get sick of it.. anyway, de music grps on de other hand, are enjoying better luck i suppose...strings ensemble & choir managed to get gold wif honours, harmoc & guitar managed to get gold, MAD (music & dance) and band got silver... de sch was happy abt de awards clinched by de various musical grps...except for band i guess. it was realli sad for de band members coz all of them were expecting something better! my classmates, 1 of whom is de band major while de other's holding another exco position, were especially disappointed coz dey felt dat de band had actually performed quite well on de syf judging day, so de band members were actualli expecting at least a gold...but things definitely didnt turn out as dey had hoped...for some unknown reason, dey ended up wif a silver...many of de band members were so affected dat dey ponned quite a no. of lessons de next day & they were in veri low spirits for a couple of days after de syf central judging...

okie, enough said abt my sch's misfortunes...hope better things will come our way... wish me luck for nxt yr's comp... hope i can get thru without any mishap... most importantly, hope my injuries dun worsen any further from now until de comp...my knees are alredi on de verge of breaking, & my left shoulder (dislocated previously) has also been giving me lotza problems, not forgetting my left ankle (torn ligament during bball for pe in sec 3) wch sprains itself veri easily...hahaha...am i scaring u guyz? okok...shall end off here, hope to meet up real soon...in de meantime, hope we'll all enjoy each & every day of our lives & face all challenges wif lotza courage & optimism! ^_^  ¶ celestine 8:56 PM
